The [[USS Enterprise]] has returned triumphantly from her first five year mission and is currently awaiting refit in Spacedock under the close guard and protection of the Federation secuirty service personnel (redshirts) stationed there. However, standing around for hours at a time are taking their toll on some members of the force, those with an inkling of intelligence and a semblance of normality long for bigger and better things. 

[[James T. Kirk]], admired and reveired by the majority of Starfleet officers crosses swords with security in Spacedock, prompting an inadvertant, and unwanted, promotion to Admiral for the highly acclaimed Captain, and a surprise promotion for a member of Spacedock security.

In high lunar orbit sits the junkyard of the Starfleet. Not large enough to be moved to outer colony worlds as of yet, but still big enough to accept all the spacejunk which an interplanetary civilisation can create. Within this man made Oort belt sits the [[USS Devonshire]] unused, unpowered and unwanted until reactivated by Kirk's orders to house the biggest omega squad of unwanted redshirts, less than admirable scientists and downright deadpan doctors that have ever graced the spacelanes to date. Oh Dread! Thy Shirt Is Red!

This first outing with the crew has them battling the age and frankly delapidated conditon of their combined new ship, their comparative lack of skills at being spacefarers and their honest to god stupidity when faced with the unknown (In this case a brand new, top of the line Romulan Warbird.) Will they prevail? Will they save the day? Will they find reverse? Or will they fall flat on their faces in the face of adversity?
