When the [[SS Clydesdale]] visited Dirt in search of replacement parts for their fried intermix regulator, the planet's residents happily surrendered and made [[Dr. Janet Corbair]] their Empress. Dirt's occupants are possibly the only species in the galaxy with no desire for power. They have a government out of organizational necessity, but otherwise they will pledge their eternal loyalty to anyone who is the least bit commanding. Dirt was under the protection of the [[First Federation]], so [[Mike Harper]] had to force Corbair to leave, so that the Clydesdale was not destroyed by a First Federation ship.
