	Joining the Hansean with glowing reviews from her previous commander Captain Herables she set about whipping the crew into shape. While Captain [[Klaus Reimann]] and her friend Dr. [[Belle Scorpio]] seem to be the only people on board safe from her insults, she particularly loves to pick on engineers: first Chief [[Ness]], and then [[Nyoko Sulu]]. 	When the Hasean visited Cardassia Prime she was left in charge of the ship while Reimann attempted to negotiate a settlement between the striking Unions and textile industries. When Captain Jakes arrived he suggested to Reimann he get rid of Braistway. Reimann said he was perfectly happy with her performance ([[United Colours of Cardassia]] [IV]). While returning from a fashion show on Denobula on board the [[S.S. River Running]] the raceabout disappeared and found itself outside the [[Green Meadows Retirement Home]]. Braistway convinced the omnipotent residents to escape, and succesfully sprung them from the retirement home ([[The Fishy and The Elderly]] [IV]). Later that year she was placed in charge of supplies when the Hansean was hit by an EMP. She was also successful in repelling a pirate boarding party. Her fighting prowess was confirmed later that year when she was able to defeat the [[Second Coming of Chuck ~~Norriss~~]], albeit with a little help from [[Soledad Sanchez Rios]] and a priceless Ming vase. Throughout all this she kept up a constant parade of abuse towards Nyoko. First mate of the [[S.S. Hansean]], she is well known for her abrasive command style and feud with Chief Engineer [[Nyoko Sulu]].

Formerly a Starfleet officer, she was dishonourably dismissed because of an incident involving Captain [[Marvin Jakes]] of the [[USS Misacmos]], a slight miscommunication, an awful lot of custard and the odd transvestite Klingon. Following her dismissal she joined the [[Dillon Enterprises|Dillon Consortium]]'s Logistics division ([[United Colours of Cardassia]] [IV]).
