The origination of the pet-crazy medical drone currently designated Doctor begins as a Seffite named Jas. A newly matriculated veterinarian enroute to his first "real" job with the gas mining company CHON, he and his good friend (and fellow vet) Plent take a detour to view the time-warping phenomenon of Entropy. While there, a Borg cube appears and ends up as a smear across an asteroid. Jas, along with his friend, investigate the wreckage and end up taking a new pet back to their ship with them in the form of a badly damaged Borg. The Borg is saved; and while at first it seems as if shrapnel to the head had effectively de-Borged the drone, in the end the Collective reasserts their claim and Jas is declared to have the hallmarks of an excellent medical technician.<sup>1</sup> | |||

The origination of the pet-crazy medical drone currently designated Doctor begins as a Seffite named Jas. A newly matriculated veterinarian enroute to his first "real" job with the gas mining company CHON, he and his good friend (and fellow vet) Plent take a detour to view the time-warping phenomenon of Entropy. While there, a Borg cube appears and ends up as a smear across an asteroid. He speaks in baby talk and looks like a bipedal rodent, complete with oversized incisors ("Cube #347's Excellent Adventure, Part III"; "Please State the Nature of the Medical Emergency"; "We Are Q" [BRG]). Due to his vet past, he tends to accidentally assimilate nonsentient animals...and the occasional plant ("This is Borg" [BRG])
