Device "invented" by Dr. Pevzin. It was built from Dominion technology, and Pevzin really had no idea what it did, if it did anything at all. He just used his work on the Protilator to get a grant and a free trip to Argelius. In order to test it out, Pevzin attached the Protilator to the warp core of the USS Secondprize. When he activated the device, it split the ship into three pieces.
