Dreamland

A virtual reality created by Matrian Spatial Interphase Devices or Dream Machines. Each device (SID) is capable of generating a separate Dreamland, or of networking together to form larger realities.

In order for a Dreamland to function properly, a person of strong will must take on the role of 'controlling entity'. This person is largely responsible for regulating the Dreamland and determining the form it will take. However, any being connected to an SID can exercise some control over the environment.

It is important to note that a properly functioning Dreamland is also capable of altering the behaviors and personalities of the beings connected.

Uses

• The females of the Matrian Empire used a huge Dreamland as a virtual world while they were in suspended animation beneath the surface of their planet.

• The crew of the USS Silverado encountered a Dreamland during their first excursion out of Spacedock.
