Cerebe was the name for the species of disembodied brains that included Cabral and Jacinda. The Cerebe were created by the Pliggeri and grown in pods then encased in large black spheres. Each Cerebe was given a built in expiration time, at which point they would die and their spheres would be drawn to Gathering Point.

After all of the Cerebe except for Cabral expired and returned to Gathering Point, the planet's caretaker, Chindela, shrunk himself and the planet into a tiny cube, which Cabral took into his sphere. With the help of Captain Reginald Bain and Lieutenant Shelly Marsden, Cabral and Dr. Natalia Kasyov stole the USS Anomaly to take the cube to the new Pliggeri homeworld located in another galaxy.
