Chindela

Chindela was a Pliggeri and the caretaker of Gathering Point. When Cabral was drawn to Gathering Point, Chindela explained the world's purpose to Cabral and other members of the USS Anomaly crew and informed Cabral that the brain had about 3 years left until he expired. The solitude of being there alone for so many years caused Chindela to snap, and he tried to force Cabral to stay there, even going so far as to send the empty Cerebe spheres he'd sworn a duty to watch over after the Anomaly's away team. Cabral was able to get through to him, and Chindela realized the horror of what he'd done with the spheres he was supposed to take care of. He returned them to Gathering Point and, as a way of making it up to Cabral, removed Cabral's expiration date, so that he could live however long as he was able. (Music Of The Spheres [BG])

Years later, the Anomaly delivered Jacinda's sphere to Gathering Point after she expired. She was the last of the Cerebe, other than Cabral, so with his duty complete, Chindela shrank himself and Gathering Point down to the size of a tiny cube, which Cabral then took inside of himself. In this form, Chindela communicated the location of the Pliggeri's new homeworld to Cabral. (Going, Going, Gone... [BG])
