Dirt

Dirt was a Class M planet hidden inside an uncharted nebula outside of Federation space. When the SS Clydesdale visited Dirt in search of replacement parts for their fried intermix regulator, the planet's residents happily surrendered and made Dr. Janet Corbair their Empress. Dirt's occupants are possibly the only species in the galaxy with no desire for power. They have a government out of organizational necessity, but otherwise they will pledge their eternal loyalty to anyone who is the least bit commanding. Dirt was under the protection of the First Federation, so Mike Harper had to force Corbair to leave, so that the Clydesdale was not destroyed by a First Federation ship.
