Great White Smoke Ring

A pressure wave of matter/anti-matter radiation created in the atmosphere of the gas giant Jupiter by the detonation of a Warp Core belonging to the Constitution Class Starship USS Devonshire in 2273. The ring totally consumed the Great Red Spot which had been swirling in the Jovian atmosphere for hundreds of years. This in turn caused the Federation Authority Regarding Tourism (Abbr. FART) to ban the Devonshire from approaching Jupiter for the forseeable future. The ban was lifted a week later when the ship launched a photon torpedo filled with one of Harcourt Fenton Mudd's cocktails which reignited the Great Red Spot.
