The USS Maladventure was the name of several ships commanded by Captain Reginald Bain prior to his taking command of the USS Anomaly. His adopted son, Lieutenant Commander Tovar served on the Maladventure as well.

Bain destroyed one Maladventure during the Breen war when he crashed it into a power dampening platform the Breen had placed in Earth orbit, which had disabled the planet and a large chunk of Starfleet.

The Maladventure-B was blasted into pieces during a battle in which it was the only ship taking on a Tzenkethi fleet. Captain Bain slammed the primary hull into an asteroid to seal the resulting breach and was still able to defeat the Tzenkethi. The remains of the ship are still in the asteroid field where the battle took place, left by Starfleet as a reminder of what one ship did to their armada. The Tzenkethi are still scared to come near the place.

Rosalyn Bain used the remains of the Maladventure-B as a place to hide emergency supplies in the event that she ever had to escape Section 31. Captain Bain also had plans to fix up the Maladventure one day and use it to tool around the galaxy in his retirement years. (We'll Always Have Romulus [BG])
