Earl Wyndham

Starfleet admiral in charge of assigning personnel to the USS Secondprize. Alexander Rydell's first assignment as captain of the Secondprize was to take Wyndham to a ceremony on Lodgibax. During the trip, Wyndham went nuts, stole a shuttle, and took it to a secret research base hidden inside an asteroid field. Alexander Rydell and Patricia Hawkins followed and found themselves trapped in a reality designed by Wyndham's diseased mind. Rydell and Hawkins managed to escape, but Wyndham had disappeared. In his ramblings, Wyndham often spoke of condors. (The Hawkins Incident [REJ])

Wyndham later returned, manipulating both Rydell and Starfleet Intelligence Agent Samantha Dallas from afar so that they would take action against the Next Federation conspiracy led by Admiral Hitori Sulu. While Rydell pursued the Next Federation fleet, Wyndham needed Dallas and her partner, Agent Batyn to rescue his niece, Helen Knight, who had infiltrated the Next Federation and was passing information to her uncle. After seeing to the safety of Knight, Wyndham contacted Admiral Cooper, who brought in several Starfleet vessels to force the surrender of the Next Federation fleet.

(Admiral Wyndham's name is yet another "Twin Peaks" reference.)
