Samantha Dallas

Samantha Dallas is an agent with Starfleet Intelligence. Over the course of her investigations, Dallas became suspicious of the activities of the Crazy Condor Circus. After a run-in with the circus, Dallas's superior, Admiral Gitt gave her a new partner, Agent Batyn, and assigned the pair cases that no one else wanted. Dallas did not give up her interest in the Crazy Condors, though, and continued to pursue them. This pursuit led Admiral Gitt to have Dallas committed to Tantalus V.

Dallas remained imprisoned at Tantalus V for 18 months. She was finally released after Admiral Earl Wyndham acted on her behalf. Wyndham had been tracking the Next Federation, a conspiracy headed by Admiral Hitori Sulu that had plans to overthrow the Federation. The Crazy Condor Circus had been working on the Next Federation's behalf. Back at work, Dallas prevented the Crazy Condors from obtaining a subspace generator from Dillon Enterprises and destroyed 15 of the 20 Dominion prototype polaron disrupters they were attempting to take back to the Next Federation.

As Wyndham led Dallas and Batyn to the Next Federation base, Dallas remained focus on dealing with the Crazy Condors, particularly their ringmaster, Adrian Cullers. As the Next Federation conspiracy fell apart, she was able to apprehend the remaining Crazy Condors and then she and Batyn arrested Admiral Gitt, who had been working for Sulu all along.

Samantha Dallas is exception focused and will not let a mystery go once she is working on it. This single-minded determination is, at times, detrimental to her safety. She was once married to Jeffrey Howe, who is now captain of the USS Kissinger. They were married for 18 months and had a home in Philadelphia. It is implied in the story "Interlude of Insanity" that the marriage ended because Dallas was completely absorbed in her work for Starfleet Intelligence.
