Smash

Smash was the nickname for Unesh Wourl, a Rigellan from Rigel VII (not to be confused with Rigellians or Rigelians. He was also not a Kalar warrior.). Smash was hulking even by the standards of his people and stood a good two meters tall and close to a meter wide.

He served as the Cargo Supervisor on the SS Clydesdale commanded by Mike Harper. His nickname came from his tendency to break anti-grav cargo sleds and other things.

Smash beamed down to the Lehrer Colony with Mike and was knocked out by a group of tiny natives of the planet. These beings were planning to destroy the colony with a large metal boulder made from items stolen from the colony. Smash tried to stop the boulder, but ended up riding it down the hill. Fortunately for him, the Clydesdale was able to use a tractor beam to slow the boulder and stop it safely. ("Looking Out for the Little Guy" [TOS])

He also accompanied Mike and Dr. Janet Corbair down to Dirt, and his size alone helped convince the planet's government to surrender, not that they needed any convincing. Later, in order to save the Clydesdale from being destroyed by the First Federation, he had to assist Mike in removing her from power by picking her up and beaming back to the ship with her tossed over his shoulder.
