Janie

Janie Tyler was the fiancee of Ensign Hector Arroyo of the USS Anomaly. Arroyo revealed to Captain Reginald Bain that he was engaged to Janie while he and Bain were on Gyjik's Galaxy Gateway looking for information about the Andromeda Galaxy. (Yes, We Do Indeed Have Something To Declare! [BG])

Arroyo and Janie were actually only pretending to be engaged in order to get Arroyo's parents off his back about his dating life and marriage prospects. In return, Janie had gotten a recommendation from Senator Arroyo that allowed her to transfer out of Starfleet Research and Development, where she worked with Arroyo and Lieutenant Shelly Marsden and get her position with Admiral Okawa's office in Starfleet Sciences, where she was able to pursue her love of astronomy.

When Janie and Admiral Okawa were on their way to Waystation Prime, they altered course to investigate a large blue phenomenon that had recently appeared in space. The Serellan artist Veraxe' captured the raceabout and imprisoned them. Soon thereafter, Arroyo learned they were missing and went with Marsden to investigate. They were briefly captured as well, but Arroyo was able to escape Veraxe', destroying multiple robots in the process, then free Marsden, Janie, and Okawa. They fled Veraxe's ship only to find that he had completed the painting, which was absolutely gorgeous. They decided not to destroy it. After returning to Earth, Arroyo and Janie went to the dinner with Arroyo's parents, continuing the charade a bit longer. (The Ties That Bind [BG])
