Sperik

Sperik was the Vulcan ambassador sent to convince Leton Duran, the leader of Brialis Seven that her world should join the Vulcan alliance instead of the Federation. After hearing from Sperik and Captain Reginald Bain of the USS Anomaly, Duran decided to join the Vulcans and took Sperik to the planet's Disaster Situation Room, at which time he learned that the planet was about to be eaten by a massive space amoeba. Sperik and the Vulcans left after receiving this, since there was no logic in admitting a planet that was about to be destroyed to their alliance. Duran then asked Captain Reginald Bain for help in exchange for joining the Federation. Dr. Natalia Kasyov developed a plan to shrink the approaching organism, but it required the Anomaly, several Brialan ships, and the Vulcan ships to work. Commander Prosak was able to present Sperik with a logical argument that he could not refute in order to gain there assistance. During the effort to shrink the amoeba, the Anomaly's warp core had to be ejected, and the Vulcans towed the Starfleet ship to safety. With the amoeba successfully shrunk, the Vulcans took possession of it, and Leton Duran decided to join the Vulcan Alliance after all. (Diplomatic Immunity [BG])
