He was kept unconscious most of that time so he wouldn't pollute the time stream. He was dating [[Trina]], not aware that she was actually [[Trinian]], an incredibly long-lived alien. (''[[Sensitivity 101]]'' [TRK]) [[Rebecca Singer]] became fixated on the 20th century Alex after she was sent to [[Tantalus V]]. Believing that her beloved Captain [[Alexander Rydell]] was still trapped in Alex's body, she went back in time to get him. Her attempt was stopped by the [[USS Secondprize]], and Alex's mind was wiped of the whole experience.
