Captain Alexander Rydell's past comes back to haunt him as the USS Secondprize is sent on a diplomatic mission to the planet Rydell would least like to revisit. Can he get over the past long enough to fulfil his duty, or will someone else take the decision out of his hands?
Summary
The USS Secondprize is en route to Ugilious to take part in the ceremonies surrounding the admission of the Joegonots to the Federation, much to Captain Alexander Rydell's dismay. They are taking with them Federation Representative Byan Sel of Betazed, who was not a fan of Rydell's actions that turned the Joegonots into humans, and his bodyguard, the Klingon Mookow.
Counselor Claire Webber, who is even less pleased about going to Ugilious, takes over the bridge, leaving only her and Lieutenant Andrea Carr in the Secondprize's command center while the rest of the command crew is trapped in other places around the ship. Rydell tries to talk Webber down. Carr uses the distraction to attack Webber, leading to a fight between the two women for control of the bridge. They beat each other into unconsciousness, and Commander Jaroch (well, J'Ter really) is able to free the command crew.
The Secondprize arrives at Ugilious, and Rydell, Lieutenant Commander Patricia Hawkins, Byan Sel, and Mookow beam down to face the Joegonots.

Author's Comments
This is the first story of a three-story arc. I pulled out the old storytelling standby called coming full-circle. The first Star Traks story I ever wrote involved the Joegonots, so it seemed appropriate to go back to them for the final story arc of the series (Please Hold For Oblivion was written before this, and I had no idea that The Star Traks Reunion Special was going to happen).
