Karina Durham

Smuggler who crash landed at The Suburb after being shot down by Zero. She and Alexander Rydell became fast friends. (Star Traks 2 [TRK]) That friendship was rekindled years later and turned romantic when the two ran into each other again when she ran afoul of the Sheliak while working for Bradley Dillon. She and Rydell worked together to recover her ship, the Acapella II, and Dillon's subspace generator. Spaanz and Taanz got away with the generator, but Durham did get her ship back (The Next Item Up For Bid [TRK]).

She was later hired by Admiral Earl Wyndham, who subdued her and used her as bait to lure Rydell into helping him deal with the Next Federation threat (The Old Man And The Conspiracy [TRK]) Rydell sent Durham to Waystation to warn Captain Lisa Beck about the situation, but Durham was intercepted en route and her ship was destroyed. She made it to Waystation in an escape pod and was captured by Aaron Stanton, a Waystation crewmember who was working for the Next Federation (Is That A Fleet In Your Pocket? [TRK]).

After the Next Federation was dealt with, Rydell asked Durham to remain on board the USS Secondprize, where she was given control of Seven Backward. After some time, Rydell proposed to her. After Rydell retired, he and Durham were married and ran a resort together at The Suburb.

Many years later, she was kidnapped by Morticent in an attempt to stop Rydell from preventing Forever from destroying the universe. Approximately a year after the Forever incident, Durham gave birth to Ashley Rydell, the couple's daughter. (Please Hold for Oblivion [TRK])
