Jeff Tatten
Descended from the monumental english eccentric, Sir Clive Sinclair, Jeff Tatten is the duotronics mastermind who is given the task of repairing and upgrading the computer system of the USS Devonshire during her return to service in 2273.
In 2267, Jeff was the senior software engineer on the Daystrom Institute project which gave the Starfleet it's first M class computer systems, including the ill fated M-5. It is rumoured that Richard Daystrom used memory engrams which were superimposed over a comupter network pattern to produce more efficient machines. The rumour further has it that the reverse was applied to Mr. Tatten, with his brain engrams being replace by the logical impulses of a network. Given his fastidious orderliness and complete obsessive compulsive disorder, it is easy to see how this occurance could likely be truth....
To date he has completely re-written the command and control interfaces, forced the LCARS system to run on under specified hardware and is in the process of totally re-writing the onboard games suite. (Everyone is getting bored of three dimensional Tetris.)
