Richard Theroll

One of the bureaucrats assigned to Waystation's colonization administration office and the leader of the station's Society for Creative Anachronisms group. Theroll was displeased with Lieutenant Commander Craig Porter, who was also a member of the station's SCA group, for shutting down Waystation's main power systems to save the station from a storm, which prevented the group from battling in the holodeck. Theroll was later elected President of the Waystation Residents' Association. In this capacity, he attempted to convince Captain Lisa Beck to have Federation President Bradley Dillon removed from the station, since he believed that Bradley's presence made Waystation a target and threatened the security of the residents. Beck refused. Soon after this, Beck and the other Waystation command officers were trapped in Ops for an unscheduled lockdown drill. Discovering this and realizing that Colonel Martin Lazlo was going to try to seize control, Theroll organized a civilian militia that was able to defeat both the marines and the Starfleet crew (in their defense, the marines and Starfleet personnel were busy fighting each other). Theroll proclaimed himself to be Station Administrator and established the Waystation Center of Governance. When Beck and the others emerged from lockdown, Theroll informed her that he was now in charge. He proceeded to then declare that Lazlo had been found guilty in absentia of attempting to overthrown the government of Waystation. When Beck protested, saying that Theroll had made himself dictator, he challenged her to a sword fight. The fight ended quickly when Beck smacked Theroll's sword aside and beat him senseless. Rather than being sent to a rehabilitation colony for his actions, Theroll remained on Waystation without punishment because he was the only one in his office who knew how to run a particular report.
