Audrey Bain
Audrey Bain was the youngest biological child of Reginald Bain and Rosalyn Bain. Reginald and Audrey did not have a great relationship. At one time she dated a Breen, which was awkward for the Starfleet Officer known as "The Butcher of Breen."
Audrey worked as a custodian at the Mega-Sim, where she was responsible for caring for the holograms that lived in it. She enjoyed uploading into the Mega-Sim via a neural tap chip. After the James T. Kirk hologram and Tovar hologram beamed down to the Mega-Sim, they met Audrey and told her that they wanted to be uploaded. She realized they were wearing mobile emitters a bit too late and was uploaded into the Mega-Sim with them. By this time, Bain had arrived with the real Lieutenant Commander Tovar and Ensign Hector Arroyo aboard the USS Navigator. The Sloan, now under the command of the Moriarty hologram, attacked the Navigator sending it crashing to the surface of Beta Omadda Three, where the Mega-Sim was located. Bain, Tovar, and Arroyo found themselves on a recreation of the Anomaly commanded by the Kirk hologram. When Bain asked what Audrey was doing there, she replied that she was helping Kirk make a difference once more time. She accused Bain of being an absent father and loving Tovar more than his actual daughters. While working to free as many holograms as he could, the Kirk hologram revealed to Audrey that he could alter their ethical subroutines, so they'd kill organics. Audrey ended up helping her father escape the simulated Anomaly and took him to the Voyager's Emergency Medical Hologram, who taught Bain how to fight like a hologram. Bain used these skills to attack the Kirk hologram at the same time a team from the Anomaly arrived to rescue Bain and the others. Realizing that things were not going his way, the Kirk hologram tried to transfer his program to an Yridian ship, but he was intercepted by Rosalyn Bain, who took him back to the Section 31 facility. He was returned to a holographic simulation of his USS Enterprise, but one where holograms of his crewmates beat him relentlessly. Audrey had been working for Section 31 the whole time and lamented the need to lie to her father. (Illusions Of Grandeur - Part One, Illusions Of Grandeur - Part Two [BG])
Section 31 sent Audrey onto the Romulan Warhawk Shakalak in disguise as the ship's first officer, Sub-Commander Nural because Section 31 believed that circumstances on that ship and with the Vulcans overall were not what they seemed. The Shakalak had ambushed a Vulcan frigate and beamed a cargo crate from it into the Shakalak's cargo bay. The ship was then in battle with other Vulcan ships before being rescued by the Anomaly. The Shakalak was repaired by Starfleet and needed a new tactical officer. Tovar took the opportunity to escape his troubles on the Anomaly by volunteering to go. Once he was aboard, Audrey revealed her identity to him and told him that they would be saving Earth but they wouldn't be coming back. hey later discovered that the cargo crate was actually a transporter unit holding twenty Vulcan soldiers under the command of Colonel Strep. Tovar and Audrey were able to briefly escape while the Vulcan soldiers that took control of the Shakalak, but they were eventually captured. Audrey was sent to the cargo hold with the rest of the crew while Tovar was put in the brig. When the Shakalak arrived at Earth, Audrey was able to help Tovar escape. The Vulcans were attempting to retrieve the Kolch'ak Device from the Kantelov Annex on Earth to see if it could be used to control Romulans. It did indeed work on Romulans, but Tovar, Audrey, and a team from the USS Anomaly was able to stop the Vulcans and destroy the device before they were able to escape with it. Audrey left as soon as the situation was resolved, and Tovar told everyone that Nural had been vaporized by the Vulcans. After Rosalyn went on the run from Section 31, Section Chief Oscar Gunton contacted Audrey to ask where Rosalyn might go. Audrey didn't tell him and, after leaving a hologram of herself to cover her absence, went to see her mother on the wreck of the USS Maladventure-B. Audrey asked Rosalyn if she was really willing to throw away her career and anger Section 31. Rosalyn said that Audrey was being overdramatic. After an exchange of "I love you"s, Audrey left and Rosalyn went back in time to try and stop the Hobus ultranova. (We'll Always Have Romulus [BG])
Section 31 was not content to leave the changes to the events surrounding the Hobus supernova alone and sent Audrey back to keep the ultranova on track. Because of this, Rosalyn woke up in an alternate universe where she had never married Bain and things were just generally grim. She went back in time again and convinced Audrey not to interfere, this restoring the timeline. (Consequences You Otherwise Avoid [BG])
