Jack Woodall

Captain of the USS Orleans. Woodall and Dr. Amelia Nelson had a relationship at one point that ended badly, so neither of them was very pleased to see the other when the Orleans arrived at Waystation for the reopening ceremony. Woodall commanded the Orleans in the battle to retake Waystation from the Starshine Kids. Woodall was known for his take-charge, get-it-done attitude, but Walter Morales would not let him take over control of the attempt to rescue Lisa Beck and the other hostages. Woodall was injured during the battle, forcing Craig Porter to take command. (Critical Mass, Lip Lock [WAY])

Woodall later was put in temporary command of the USS Secondprize while Captain Alexander Rydell was on extended leave. He was exceptionally hard on the crew, leading them to put him and his Security Chief, Lieutenant Nell Vansen into a simulation of the Secondprize on the holodeck. He left the ship none-the-wiser and rather impressed with Lieutenant Commander Emily Sullivan, so much so that he offered her the post of First Officer on the Orleans when it became available early the following year.
