Introduction

Lieutenant Andrew Baxter was going nowhere aboard the USS Secondprize. As a low-level Inventory officer, he was used to being shunned, despised and generally abused, even by the majority of the crew of Starfleet's "ship of the damned". (Even to the point of being gassed by his OWN Captain.). An incident with a Tarkalian Razorbeast proves to be the start of a great day in the life of Baxter, a day which finishes with him in command of his own ship, the USS Aerostar.

However, the ship comes at a cost. Baxter and crew are immediately tasked with investigating the disappearances of several key Starfleet and other Federation ships in an area of space known as the Bermuda Expanse, uncharted, unknown and generally unpleasant to be in.

Synopsis

The USS Secondprize arrives at Waystation to deliver their share of the crew of the newly assigned USS Aerostar. Among the refugee's which Captain Alexander Rydell "reassigns" to the other ship are Zachary Ford, Kristen Larkin and the defunct Secondprize Glee Club. Joining them are chief enginner Christopher Richards, one Kelly Peterman (Ship's Counselor) and first officer David Conway. Due to an unspecified accident aboard Waystation, Commander Lisa Beck practically throws their ship's Doctor Janice Browning aboard and more or less orders Baxter and co. to "Get the hell off my station."

As soon as the crew are assembled, (Or re-assembled in the case of Larkin), including the genocidal J'hana, the ship embarks upon their new assignment, heading at speed straight to the heart oif the matter and flying directly into the expanse, (Sheesh, you'd have thought they'd have stopped for directions, or at least sensor scans!) where they encounter an unknown ship spouting poetry at them. Doing what any self respecting Starfleet crew would be expected to, they immediately try and take the ship and it's lone occupant into custody, with disasterous results. A tractor beam only adds to the mix. In the immortal words of our narrator, the Aerostar sailed serenly into the Bermuda Expanse, "Powered by dilithium and stupid determination", and disappears.

And so begins their journey.......
