The Multek Enclave is getting close to the big day, so, in order to ensure that everything is in...um...order, they've decided to give some of the Waystation officers a little test drive.

Summary

Dr. Amedon Nelson is nervous about the impending arrival of her parents, who haven't yet met Wuddle. Actually, they didn't even know he existed until a week prior to their visit. Nelson, her parents, and Wuddle will be having dinner together that night. When Wuddle arrives, he tells Captain Lisa Beck that with the Grand Opening of the Multek Enclave to the galaxy rapidly apporaching, the Multeks would like some assistance ahead of time in testing out some of their attractions. He asks Beck to go to Multos that evening with three others and try out a few things that the city has to offer. Beck takes Lieutenant Commander Craig Porter, Lieutenant Commander Sean Russell, and Yeoman Tina Jones with her to Multos, where they are met by Wuddle's assistant, Faddle. Faddle splits the group up, sending each person to a different attraction. Beck goes to the Mudelonya Spa, Porter goes camping, Jones hits a new city district devoted to entertainment for off-worlders, and Russell stays at the Hotel Xenocacian.

Back on Waystation, Wuddle meets Dr. Nelson's parents at dinner. The three quickly find a bond, since they've all experienced Dr. Nelson's reluctance to share information about her life. The Nelsons soon begin telling Wuddle all about Amedon's childhood as Amelia. Dr. Nelson is less than thrilled.

At the spa, Beck ends up in the middle of a fight between two of the Multek employees, both of whom insist that it's is their time to help Beck relax. Porter is taken by hoverlimo to a forest somewhere on Multos. He's not exactly sure where, since the limo had tinted windows. He is assured by his guide, Jindal, that they are perfectly safe, though. Jones and her guide, Kekkie, arrive at the off-worlder entertainment district, and Jones is dtermined to see all of it. Russell is given the Frequoqian Suite at the Hotel Xenocacian, which is practically a mansion inside the hotel. He's even more pleased to learn that the hotel offers a wide range of in-room meals and services.

After dinner, Nelson and Wuddle have a fight about her excessive secrecy and lack of trust in others, which ends with her locking Wuddle out of her bedroom. The fight at the spa escalates, forcing Beck to run for it. Porter discovers that the Multeks' idea of roughing it isn't exactly rough. Jones finds that all the drinks she's had are not synthehol but are real alcohol. She decides to go with it, dance, and drink more. Russell indulges in room service and a massage.

Wuddle and Dr. Nelson make up. After being cornered in a supply closet, Beck attacks the spa staff, shatters the front door, and flees the spa in a robe. Porter learns that he's been camping in a large park in the middle of the city. He tells Jindal that when visitors decide to go hiking, they are going to want to be in the real wilderness, even though it could be dangerous. Jindal is uncomfortable with that idea but will pass along the suggestion to the Department of Hospitality Services. Jones wakes up hungover and in bed with a strange Multek. Russell sleeps a luxurious sleep.

Returning to Waystation, Beck, Porter, Russell, and Jones give Wuddle a padd full of helpful suggestions. Wuddle is upset that things went so badly, but Beck assures him that everything will be fine. The Multeks were just trying too hard. The Nelsons tell Wuddle how much they have enjoyed meeting him and they will see him again in three weeks at the wedding. Dr. Nelson gives Wuddle a loving goodbye as well. In three little weeks, they will begin their life together.
