Captain [[Alexander Rydell]] finds out that some people consider his little run-in with the [[Joegonots]] to be a violation of the Prime Directive. Facing a court martial with Admiral Picard as judge and Will Riker as prosecutor, Rydell's only hope is Lieutenant Commander [[Jaroch]], assuming of course he doesn't let [[J'Ter]] out and kill everyone. Meanwhile, [[Travis Dillon]] is given command of his own ship and sent to deal with some unruly Klingons. If that's not enough, Commander [[Scott Baird]]'s got amnesia, Doctor [[Rebecca Singer]]'s lost her mind, and [[Trinian]] must save the Secondprize from a hostile takeover.
A terrorist posing as an ambassador comes to the [[USS Secondprize]] with one thing on his mind: destroying the ship. Soon, he's stranded Captain [[Alexander Rydell]], Commander [[Scott Baird]], and Lieutenant Commander [[Jaroch]] on a primitive world, trapped Commander [[Travis Dillon]] in the holodeck, thrown Lieutenant [[Patricia Hawkins]] in the brig, and romanced Lieutenant [[Emily Sullivan]]. And if he's not stopped soon, he's going to take Sullivan out on a date she won't live to forget.

After Ambassador [[Kyyyecht]] complains about Captain [[Alexander Rydell]]'s actions against the [[Joegonots]], Rydell is summoned back to Earth for a trialAt the same time, Commander [[Travis Dillon]] receives word that he is being promoted and given command of the [[USS Edsel]].  Oh, there's also a small riot on the ship that gives Commander [[Scott Baird]] a concussion resulting in amnesia and causes Dr. [[Rebecca Singer]] to accidentally inject herself with a load of heavy-duty pain killers.
The planet Jeral is in a state of civil war.  The [[Audubon]] and [[Boird]] factions have fought to a stalemate, with no one side having a true advantage (This is starting to read like the opening crawl of a Star Wars movie)The [[Roost Leader]] of the Audubons intercepts a comm conversation between Captain [[Alexander Rydell]] of the [[USS Secondprize]] and StarfleetThe Secondprize has been told to expect the arrival of Ambassador [[Fuil Baradda]] and ordered to obey the ambassador's commands. Seeing his opportunity to force Starfleet to provide the Audubons with weapons they can use against their enemy, Roost Leader contacts [[Myna]] and tells him to impersonate Barrada and get on the Secondprize.

Dillon and the Edsel are ordered to Gulax IV, where [[Dr. Reginald Smythe]] has made a discoveryA Klingon ship under the command of Captain [[Donask]] also learns of the discovery and, believing that it may be an ancient [[Firzuk]] weapon, cross into Federation space to take possession of itWith few options available to him that won't end in death, Dillon challenges Donask to a competition for possession of the discovery.
Myna arrives at the Secondprize and very quickly impresses Lieutenant [[Emily Sullivan]] (effectively ending her strained relationship with Commander [[Scott Baird]] in the process).  He soon seals Commander [[Travis Dillon]] inside a holodeck and orders Rydell, Baird, Lieutenant Commander [[Jaroch]], and Ensign [[Andrea Carr]] to take a shuttlecraft to a set of pre-arranged coordinates. He then orders Lieutenant [[Patricia Hawkins]] not to monitor the shuttle's progress.  When Hawkins disobeys orders, Myna has her put in the brig.  The shuttle, meanwhile, has a bomb in it, which explodes, as bombs tend to doCarr is able to bring the shuttle down on [[Mandicor]], a populated world with a technology level roughly equivalent to the 17th Century.  They destroy the shuttle before a group of the planet's residents arrive to investigate.  They have crashed near the town of Felsten, the residents of which are being terrorized by a warlord named [[Logash]].  The four officers also quickly discover that something about the planet's atmosphere has given them powers.  They would like to help the citizens of Ulster, but the Prime Directive is pretty clear on such things.  Jaroch comes up with a way around that problem.  They will hide their identities with costumes and use their powers.  YepThey decide to become superheroes and fight back against Logash's minions.  They are able to defeat Logash and free the village from his threat.

The drugs coursing through Dr. Singer lead her to believe to that she is James T. Kirk.  With the Secondprize is spacedock and the crew on shore leave, she is able to take over the ship with the help of several starbase crewmen that she drugs into following her.  [[Trinian]], who also remained on board, is able to stop Singer with the help of [[Kristen Larkin]].
Back on the Secondprize, Myna romances Sullivan while Hawkins escapes from the brig and finds Dillon in the holodeck, getting herself locked inside with him in the process.  They manage to overload the holodeck, but they are still trapped inside.  Hawkins is able to signal the bridge, and Lieutenants [[Lisa Beck]] and [[Craig Porter]] come to their rescue.  Learning that Sullivan is with Myna, Hawkins and Dillon race to Myna's quarters and get there just before Myna is able to kill Sullivan.  Myna escapes and races to the bridge with Hawkins and Dillon in pursuit.  A standoff ensues, which is ended when Sullivan beats Myna into unconsciousness.

[[Emily Sullivan]] uses Baird's condition as an opportunity to retrain him (albeit temporarily) to stop using so much profanity, to cook, and other things.  She, [[Lisa Beck]], and [[Claire Webber]] take Baird to the Becks' beach house on a small island off the coast of North Carolina for the retrainingBaird runs away, and Sullivan, Beck, and Webber find themselves captured by a team of assassins who were hiding on the island after pulling a job in Europe.  After the three officers are forced to serve the assassins and Sullivan laments what she did to Baird, the assassins reveals themselves as Baird, [[Monica Vaughn]], [[Craig Porter]], and [[Charlie Preston]].  Baird had regained his memory earlier and called in help to get revenge.
The Secondprize retrieves Rydell and company, whose powers immediately begin to fade.  The real Ambassador Baradda arrives soon thereafterHis mission is to travel to Jeral to see if he can negotiate an end to the civil warSullivan and Baird's relationship remains destroyed, but Hawkins and Dillon develop a burgeoning friendship based partially on a mutual interest in violent holodeck programs.

The case against Rydell is dismissed on a technicality after [[Jaroch]] discovers that Rydell's academy nemesis, William Riker, gave Ambassador Kyyyecht classified documents about the Joegonot incidentWith Rydell cleared, the Secondprize is sent to Gulax IV to bail out Dillon.  They arrive just as Donask has tired of Dillon's challenges, demanding something more suited to a warrior.  Rydell challenges her to a sharpshooting competition, which he winsDonask takes the discovery anyway and speeds away from Gulax IV.  That's fine by Rydell.  While he was distracting Donask, he had Jaroch beam the actual device Smythe discovered, a logic computer, up to the Secondprize and replace it with the Secondprize's coffee machine.

After reviewing the incident, Starfleet decides that Dillon isn't quite ready for command and puts him back on the Secondprize.  Donask returns to the Empire with her "prize" and ends up with a new job serving coffee to the High Council.  we're sure it's very honorable coffee fit for a warrior.

A terrorist posing as an ambassador comes to the USS Secondprize with one thing on his mind: destroying the ship. Soon, he's stranded Captain Alexander Rydell, Commander Scott Baird, and Lieutenant Commander Jaroch on a primitive world, trapped Commander Travis Dillon in the holodeck, thrown Lieutenant Patricia Hawkins in the brig, and romanced Lieutenant Emily Sullivan. Summary

The planet Jeral is in a state of civil war. The Audubon and Boird factions have fought to a stalemate, with no one side having a true advantage (This is starting to read like the opening crawl of a Star Wars movie). The Roost Leader of the Audubons intercepts a comm conversation between Captain Alexander Rydell of the USS Secondprize and Starfleet. The Secondprize has been told to expect the arrival of Ambassador Fuil Baradda and ordered to obey the ambassador's commands. Seeing his opportunity to force Starfleet to provide the Audubons with weapons they can use against their enemy, Roost Leader contacts Myna and tells him to impersonate Barrada and get on the Secondprize.

Myna arrives at the Secondprize and very quickly impresses Lieutenant Emily Sullivan (effectively ending her strained relationship with Commander Scott Baird in the process). He soon seals Commander Travis Dillon inside a holodeck and orders Rydell, Baird, Lieutenant Commander Jaroch, and Ensign Andrea Carr to take a shuttlecraft to a set of pre-arranged coordinates. He then orders Lieutenant Patricia Hawkins not to monitor the shuttle's progress. When Hawkins disobeys orders, Myna has her put in the brig. The shuttle, meanwhile, has a bomb in it, which explodes, as bombs tend to do. Carr is able to bring the shuttle down on Mandicor, a populated world with a technology level roughly equivalent to the 17th Century. They destroy the shuttle before a group of the planet's residents arrive to investigate. They have crashed near the town of Felsten, the residents of which are being terrorized by a warlord named Logash. The four officers also quickly discover that something about the planet's atmosphere has given them powers. They would like to help the citizens of Ulster, but the Prime Directive is pretty clear on such things. Jaroch comes up with a way around that problem. They will hide their identities with costumes and use their powers. Yep. They decide to become superheroes and fight back against Logash's minions. They are able to defeat Logash and free the village from his threat.

Back on the Secondprize, Myna romances Sullivan while Hawkins escapes from the brig and finds Dillon in the holodeck, getting herself locked inside with him in the process. They manage to overload the holodeck, but they are still trapped inside. Hawkins is able to signal the bridge, and Lieutenants Lisa Beck and Craig Porter come to their rescue.

The Secondprize retrieves Rydell and company, whose powers immediately begin to fade. The real Ambassador Baradda arrives soon thereafter. His mission is to travel to Jeral to see if he can negotiate an end to the civil war. Sullivan and Baird's relationship remains destroyed, but Hawkins and Dillon develop a burgeoning friendship based partially on a mutual interest in violent holodeck programs.
