It's a battle on three fronts as Captain Lisa Beck and Commander [{Walter Morales]] try to head off the Selvan while the rest of the Waystation crew work to stop Bradley Dillon. I'm not sure which is the tougher opponent: the non-corporeal being or the multi-billionaire.
Summary
This story picks up right after Acts Of Desperation.
With less than 5 minutes remaining in the telethon to save Waystation's naming rights, the Waystation crew is still 115 million credits short, but as time ticks down, an anonymous donor gives them the remaining money they need to counter Bradley Dillon's purchase of the naming rights. With the telethon a success, Joan Redding invites herself out to dinner with Lieutenant Commander Craig Porter.
Leximas explains the Selvan's purpose to Captain Lisa Beck. Centuries of imprisonment by the Q united the Selvan species in one goal: revenge. But to attain it, they first had to escape the confines of the dimensional rift in which they were imprisoned. Divided, they could not succeed, so they found the strongest of their number and focused their energies to send him out of the rift to seek vengeance against the Q. To hurt the Q, the Selvan must first reach the Continuum, which is why Beck is the bridge. She has a remnant of the Q in her body from the time that Karyna gave her the power of the Q. The Q are vulnerable in the Continuum, so the Selvan reaches it, he could harm them. Leximas has tried to warn the Continuum, but they will not listen to her. When the Selvan attempts to form the bridge again, Leximas and Beck will use it to try to again warn the Q.
