Fred Nooney
Dr. Fred Nooney was the Chief Medical Officer of the USS Anomaly; although, his specialties are plastic surgery and pediatrics. He somewhat childlike enthusiasm and far too thorough examinations made most of the crew wary of him, despite his overall upbeat demeanor. He also liked to perform exams in the nude, reasoning that if he got to see his patients naked, they should get to see him naked too. He felt this would make everyone more comfortable. He was very wrong.
After a disastrous attempt to console Commander Prosak on the holodeck, Nooney decided to leave Starfleet in favor of serving as Chief Medical Officer of a cruise ship on Pacifica (Welcome to the Party [BG])
When the Anomaly crew was bored during the two week trip to the Andromeda Galaxy, Nooney created the Steve! hologram to try to keep them entertained. (Do You Have Anything To Declare? [BG])
After the Anomaly was damaged and stranded in Andromeda, Nooney and Lieutenant Bre'zan Brazzell went to Gyjik's Galaxy Gateway to learn more about the cultures to be found in Andromeda. While there, they accidentally robbed a glassware shop due to a translation issue and had their minds swapped with two women at Xanax's Zany Zap Zorn, much to their horror. When a security robot came to arrest them for the glassware theft, they were able to clear up the misunderstanding and pay off their debt by agreeing to loan their bodies to a couple visiting Gyjik's for two days. Later, Nooney lost the glassware because Lieutenant Shelly Marsden discovered that it was made of dilithium, which she needed for the Anomaly's warp engines. (Yes, We Do Indeed Have Something To Declare! [BG])
Once the Anomaly was back in the Milky Way, Nooney organized a trip for several of the Anomaly crew to the Nuq'neh Corral Klingon dude ranch. Once there, he was thrown out of the saloon for continually ordering drinks they didn't have and easily beat Dr. Natalia Kasyov's targ riding time. (Wagon Train To Qo'nos [BG])
Nooney pushed his way onto the medical team investigating the plague that was removing the facial bumps of the populace of Bechode Prime, much to the team's annoyance. Thanks to Kasyov and Cabral, Nooney was able to show the team that the source was the frilia flower that had recently been brought to the planet by a trader. While Nooney was away, the Anomaly crew rushed to get physicals from Nurse Ih'vik. (The Face Of Things That Went [BG])
After Commander Prosak was dumped by Snotch, who called her too emotional, Nooney took it upon himself to help her (Really, he was manipulated into it by Sub-Commander Remax.). He took Prosak into a holodeck simulation of the Wave of Relaxation cruise ship on Pacifica, where Chynok now worked. Nooney had convinced Rorshak to have Chynok released from a Romulan prison, and the Klingon, having reconsidered what she wanted from life, decided that she wanted to have fun in a beautiful place. Nooney hoped this would help Prosak realize that she too needed to figure out what she really wanted. Instead, much to Nooney's horror, she started slaughtering the passengers and crew, starting with Chynok. During this, Nooney came to his own realization that the cruise ship life was also what he really wanted. He later informed Captain Reginald Bain that he was resigning from Starfleet to be the Chief Medical Officer of the Wave of Relaxation. Bain and his wife Rosalyn Bain took Nooney to Pacifica to start his new career while enjoying a vacation of their own. (Welcome to the Party, Born to Rom [BG])
